Where does the therapy come from?
It is from the Native American Hopi Indians of North America that the practice of ear candle treatment reached the rest of the world.

What the candles are and what are they made of?
The candles are constructed of organically grown flax, honey extracts, beeswax and powered biologically grown therapeutic herbs. Some of these are camomile, sage and St Johns Wort. The way the candles work help equalise the pressure in the head and ears thus making them suitable for many conditions such as:

Irritations in the ear and sinuses
Catarrh, sinusitis, glue ear, colds, flu, sore throats
Rhinitis/hay fever
Headaches, migraines
Tinnitus
Will help to relive pressure from flying or diving
Promote a sense of relaxation and help with the relief of stress symptoms

Stimulation of local energy flow and reflex points brings about the coordination of the cerebral hemispheres, thus helping the balance of fluids in the ears labyrinth and will help with conditions like labrynthitis, Meniere’s disease and vertigo.

How the candles work?
The candles work on a chimney principle. This action helps to bring out any impurities to the surface. The heat and changing pressure stimulates blood circulation. This intensifies the bodies natural defence system and strengthens the circulation of the lymph glands (the bodies cleansing system). This also stimulates energy point and reflex zones.

Treatment Procedure
During treatment our clients will be comfortably lying on their stomach or side. Gentle auricular massage will be performed after each ear is treated. Total treatment time is one hour.

Treatment Sessions
Treatment is carried out initially in a group of three sessions possibly spaced over a three-week period. As a holistic treatment after care, advice and suggestions may be made to our clients to ensure continued progress.
